Re:
INTERIM REPORT KALK MAX IT1
Interim report concerning regular observations
and inspections of the Kalk MAX IT1 electronic
water treatment systems
1. Instruction
In the letter dated September 16, 1997, we were
instructed to subject the above-mentioned electromagnetic
water treatment systems to observations with respect
to its influence on chalk deposits.
2. Execution of the inspection and observations:
In
collaboration with the applicant, TGM (HTL Vienna
20, and the Test Institute for Plastics and Environment
Technology) installed Kalk MAX IT1 water treatment
systems at a number of locations and observed
the changes in terms of deposits. In addition,
test pieces were checked for deposits, chalk deposits
with respect to composition were analysed with
the RFA and the drinking water with the ICP.
The scope and time of the necessary observations
are determined according to requirements, but
last for a period of at least of 12 months. This
report concerns two subjects of observation where
clear results are already apparent.
3. Subject: bakery
3.1. Task:
Is the deposit on spray jets in the baking
oven, which resulted and disturbed operations
in the past, prevented or reduced through the
installation of a Kalk MAX IT1 electromagnetic
water treatment device? These jets serve to apply
a surface water film to bread rolls before final
baking to give them a glossy appearance.
NOTE: the installation in a bakery was selected
since deposits occur on the spray jets after a
short time, and hence changes in the function
of the system can be detected quickly.
